Calm Down Your Skin | Pai Serum With Copaiba & Zinc

Summer is here, and therefore, your skin might start to become unhappy. Excess oil, a little bit of sweat.. your pores are not going to ignore it. When my skin is acting up and I get overwhelmed, I try to take it back to basics and use natural but powerful ingredients that will calm down any breakout while still hydrating my skin. The Pai Perfect Balance Blemish Serum with Copaiba & Zinc is a very good option if you want to do the same.

The packaging feels nice and luxurious as the product comes in a hard glass bottle. The pump makes it easy to control how much you want to squirt out and overall I would say it's pretty easy to use.

The consistency is very light, more like a gel than a cream. It feels like a cooling lotion when you first apply it. If you have any active breakout though, it will sting a little bit for the first 5 minutes. Nothing too unpleasant. It has a natural calming scent which reminds me a lot of orange and oats, but it's not overpowering. The skin can feel sticky for a few minutes but after that it dries and gives a pretty matte-but-moisturized finish.

After using this for a few days I noticed that my breakouts were healing a lot faster, some of the bigger, deeper spots were gone without a fuss and my skin was nice and hydrated in the morning. After a few months however, I started to realize that it wasn't doing anything close to magic for my skin. It does help with the healing process and it's very gentle on your skin - perfect for sensitive skin, which I don't have - but it doesn't help with stopping the spots from showing up. It's more of a last minute saviour that will reduce the size and redness and calm your skin. Nothing close to an acne fighting serum.

So if you are a little bit desperate that your skin is getting angry and nothing works, give this a try if it's in your price range - it retails for about £42.. I know, I know. It will definitely calm your skin down and make it smoother, clearer and happier. Just don't expect a miracle if you're battling serious breakouts. You will need more powerful stuff for that, unfortunately.

  3. It's good that it's calms spots down, but for that price I'd want it to be a bit more effective at preventing breakouts altogether!

    1. Same here. I will probably save this for special occasions and try something a little bit more powerful for preventing breakouts. I've got my eye on the Luna Sleeping Oil, but that's painfully expensive haha!
