A Warm Scent For The Cold Autumn | Lancôme La Vie Est Belle

The cold season is here and with it comes my desperate need for comfort and warmth. I hate the cold but I must admit, I absolutely love snuggling up on the sofa and being cosy with a blanket and some candles, smelling the hot chocolate and watching Halloween and (dare I say?) Christmas movies. To me, warm, calming scents are the best thing ever, especially in autumn. I've always been a fan of woody, floral, more sophisticated perfumes, as fresh or really fruity ones never appealed very much to me. Fortunately, I think I can declare that I've found my new signature scent for this time of year. It's Lancôme's "La Vie Est Belle" Eau De Parfume.

The concept of this fragrance is centered on the idea of finding joy in simple things and embracing your natural, inner beauty.
Also, look at this packaging. It's gorgeous, I can't stop starring at it! The color is absolutely stunning and suits the scent very well: feminine and sophisticated. The bottle looks so nice on my dressing table.

Describing scents is a bit of a difficult thing to do so I'll just lists the notes that I can smell the most and tell you why I love it so much. Firstly, it has patchouli, which is my absolute favorite note in perfumes. I think it gives such a glamorous, grown-up feel to the scent. The other base notes are vanilla and praline, which make it smell like a sweet, warm piece of heaven. As I was saying, floral scents are my favorites in general, so the fact that is has jasmine, orange blossom and iris in it makes me love it even more. The top notes are pear and black currant and even if they are fruits, they have a very sweet and feminine smell which ties in perfectly with the other notes.

I think it's a great scent for day or night and it definitely makes you feel more elegant, while having a nice relaxing vibe to it. Now, you can try to imagine how all of these would smell together or you can go and give it a sniff yourself.

Let me know what you think of this scent! What's your favorite perfume for the cold seasons?

  5. I agree with you about how floral scents are more sophisticated. To me, light and fruity scents always reminds me of hand soap and hand sanitizer, stuff we used when in middle school to feel more grown up.
I am definitely looking forward to the approaching holiday season. The air just has something about it that makes me feel so happy.

  12. Omg, super pretty packaging?! My favourite perfume has a similar bottle, it looks so luxe, haha. I'm not too big on feminine scents just because florally ones don't hold up too well for my nose, but it sounds lovely!
